It’s Time to Consider a New or Used Chevy Truck

Some people start shopping for a truck and already know exactly what they want. They have a clear vision of a specific make, model, and trim with the precise features they seek. That’s an excellent situation, and it can make shopping for a truck quite simple, but it is certainly not how everyone starts shopping. We have plenty of customers coming to us knowing they want a truck to be able to handle certain kinds of tasks, but beyond that, they feel a bit lost with so many different pickup options out there.

That is when we suggest a new or used Chevy truck, ensuring you can find everything you are looking for on your next pickup. As a Chevy dealership, you are probably not surprised that we suggest a Chevy, but this is about more than simple brand loyalty. The Chevy lineup features an incredible selection of vehicles, including some of the most powerful and impressive trucks on the road. Best of all, with numerous trucks on offer, they have something to meet just about any need while giving you more options than almost any other truck manufacturer out there.

Chevy has been making powerful trucks designed to meet the needs of drivers for more than a century, so they know what they are doing. With a Chevy pickup, you get a powerful engine that delivers robust, reliable performance, perfect for daily driving and taking care of anything you want. These are trucks built to be driven and used, so with a pre-owned model in good condition, you know you’re getting a pickup with plenty of life left in it, particularly if you choose one with an impressive diesel engine. Meanwhile, new Chevy trucks include remarkable technology inside and out, designed to make driving easier and more enjoyable while packed with enough muscle to tackle any task.

Chevy Silverado 1500: The Perfect Daily Driver

As you look for your next truck, if you are unsure which model is right for you, the Chevy Silverado 1500 is a great place to start. This is a full-size, light-duty pickup, so it is the perfect all-around model that delivers impressive performance for everything you need. Many customers come to us looking for a work truck that they can rely on to get through the week, but they also want it to make their weekends more enjoyable. The Silverado 1500 is the answer to this riddle, more often than not, since it has so much to offer.

First introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado 1500 builds on Chevy’s legacy of amazing trucks that goes back more than 100 years. Few other brands can brag about such a remarkable reputation, and since then, the Silverado 1500 has gone through numerous generations, including a second generation that launched with the 2007 model year and a third generation for the 2014 model. The 2019 Silverado 1500 kicked off its fourth generation, delivering an incredible array of engine options and trim levels to choose from.

Naturally, this means you can find a staggering number of solid, reliable pre-owned Chevy Silverado 1500 models with a wide range of options, trims, and variations. Both gas and diesel engines have been available year after year, so you can find the kind of power you want on a new or used model, while trim levels like the Trail Boss models and the ZR2 are perfect if you want a full-size truck that is ready to head off-road. Go for a newer Silverado 1500, and you’ll find some of the most luxurious and ambitious features from Chevy, including much larger interior displays and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system that makes every trip easier and less stressful.

Chevy Silverado HD Models: Power to Take You Further

If you like the overall look and feel of the Silverado 1500 but need greater capability, check out the Chevy Silverado HD models. These are powerful and sophisticated full-size trucks with serious performance packed under the hood and bold engineering designed to elevate your work capacity. The Silverado HD series was introduced for the 2001 model year, and their generations typically come out a year after the standard Silverado 1500 gets an update. For example, Chevy delivered the third-generation Silverado HD trucks for the 2015 model year, while the fourth generation for the HD series launched with the 2020 model.

You have two different Silverado HD models available, each offered at various trim levels and with various features. The Silverado 2500 HD is the first step up from the Silverado 1500 and the perfect choice if you want a bit more performance without going too big. Many of its available options are similar to the Silverado 1500, plus engineering that enhances its towing and payload capabilities. If you need more muscle than the Silverado 1500 has to offer without going overboard, then this is a great one to consider.

On the other hand, if you need the most power and capability you can get from a pickup truck, you should check out the Silverado 3500 HD. You can still find a lot of excellent trim levels and features available for this truck, plus one significant difference: the Silverado 3500 HD is available with a dual rear-wheel (DRW) configuration. Also called a “dually,” a Silverado 3500 HD with a DRW setup has a pair of wheels on each rear axle rather than one wheel on each end. This allows for a massive amount of additional payload and greater towing capacity, particularly when it comes to fifth wheel or gooseneck towing. The DRW set up on the 3500 HD can handle almost twice as much as the 2500 HD. That way, you still get an idea of the capacity difference but it doesn’t have any specifics.

Chevy Colorado: Midsize Design, Big Capabilities

The Silverado models we have looked at are full-size trucks, but if you’re looking for something smaller, the midsize Chevy Colorado could be the perfect choice. The Colorado has everything you expect from a powerful and capable Chevy truck, but with a smaller, midsize design that makes it ideal for many drivers. This is an excellent choice if you have a downsized lifestyle or a smaller garage that you need to be able to fit your truck into. Full-size trucks are great, but we know they can be a bit much for what some drivers want in a vehicle.

Chevy first offered the Colorado for the 2004 model year as a compact truck, which is how it remained through the 2012 model. This is important to note if you are looking at used models and interested in an older truck to go easier on your budget; go back too far, and you will find a smaller pickup than you might expect. However, interest in small trucks dropped in the early 2010s, which is why the Colorado was discontinued for a couple years after its 2012 model. Still, we didn’t have to wait long for it to return since Chevy brought back a redesigned Colorado as a slightly larger, midsize pickup for the 2015 model year.

Since then, the Colorado has been a remarkably popular option and the perfect truck for anyone interested in a midsize daily driver. The Colorado still has plenty of power under its hood, with numerous engines offered each year, plus impressive payload and towing capacities so it can handle a wide range of tasks. This is one of our favorite picks if you are looking for a truck to take off-road or get you to your favorite campsite, with Z71 and ZR2 models available in recent years to provide enhanced off-road performance. New or used, the Chevy Colorado is a favorite among many drivers and the perfect choice if you prefer a midsize design with power that never feels small or underdeveloped.

Remarkable Used Trucks for You to Drive

Although there is much to be said for getting a new truck with all of the latest bells and whistles, it can be just as satisfying to keep a great pickup on the road longer. With a pre-owned truck, you can make the most of the serious power and capabilities from previous years while keeping your budget more affordable. Choosing a used truck also gives you access to models and features that are no longer available on pickups being made right now. Some people worry that choosing a used vehicle limits their freedom of choice, but you actually get a wider range of options when exploring different pre-owned trucks.

We work hard to maintain a fantastic selection of used trucks for you to choose from, making it easier for us to help you find whatever you’re looking for. A pre-owned Chevy Silverado 1500 is a fantastic choice that can provide you with remarkable capability and great features at a price many drivers find more accessible. Similarly, a used Silverado HD model can be the perfect pickup if you need something to help you get your job done but are trying to keep costs down and boost profits. If you want a great truck to take off-road and prefer to skip a lot of initial depreciation on your vehicle, then a pre-owned Chevy Colorado is a great choice.

As much as we (obviously) love our Chevy trucks, the most important thing to us is helping you find whatever you need. That is why we carry used pickups from a wide range of brands, not only Chevrolet, giving us more ways to get you the perfect model. A pre-owned GMC truck like the full-size Sierra or midsize Canyon is a fantastic option if you like the power and performance of Chevy trucks but want something a bit more luxurious. We also typically have used trucks from other brands like Ford and Ram, ensuring we can help you find whatever you want.
