If you’ve ever dreaded car shopping, you remember the feeling: apprehension settling into your abdomen, stress levels rising as you patiently wait for the sales associate to stop talking so you can tell them what you really want, and finally, defeat. You aren’t alone––plenty of other drivers go through this experience every time they need to look for a car. But we don’t think it should be that way.
That’s why our goal at Chevyland is to create the opposite experience. We don’t want you to feel stressed, defeated, or apprehensive. We want to make car shopping fun. You deserve to enjoy the experience of looking at cars, and you know better than anyone the type of vehicle you’re looking for. As your Chevy dealer near Minden, we serve Minden and surrounding areas with a smile, knowing that we’re not adding to your feelings of defeat but giving you pure enjoyment.
No matter what type of vehicle you’re looking for, no matter the price, we will help you find a car, truck, or SUV in your price range and guide you through the process so that you can drive confidently off the lot, perfectly pleased with your purchase.
Chevrolet appeared on the automotive scene in 1911 with the Series C Classic Six. These vehicles were popular, though they were considered more luxury items than necessities. Chevrolet’s bowtie emblem arrived in 1914, and the V8 engine was introduced in 1917. Electric lights were also becoming popular, and an early Chevy truck equipped with a powerful engine, bright lights, and an electric starter was a sight to behold.
The Roaring 20s were very busy for Chevrolet, so much so that it had to open multiple factories just to keep up with customers clamoring for their own Chevy cars. Even the Great Depression couldn’t keep Chevrolet down for long, and in 1934, ten million Chevrolets were already being driven all around the United States. Of course, World War II also made an impact, with civilian vehicle production grinding as factories were converted to build tanks and planes. This went on for a few years, but afterward, Chevy again pivoted toward the production of civilian vehicles, and sales continued to rise, with the fifty-millionth Chevy exiting the factory in 1954, only 43 years after Chevy opened its doors.
In the following decades, Chevrolet introduced sports cars, race cars, automatic transmissions, and several other new technologies, resulting in the astronomical popularity of models like the Corvette and Bel Air. Highly collectible today, the Bel Air, or the “Hot One” as it was known back then, is recognizable in an instant, bringing back memories of the time when family Sunday drives were a regular occurrence. People loved the freedom of having a car, especially one so unique and stylish as the Bel Air. Others loved the feel of the wind in their hair as they took off down the highway in a Corvette.
Today, Chevrolet continues to produce classics like the Corvette, including an electrified model, the Chevy Corvette E-Ray. Chevy has also introduced countless new models in every segment. With its ear to the ground for up-and-coming technology and quick integration of new ideas, it’s easy to see why so many still love their Chevrolet.
