This change was made to improve the pep of the Equinox and make it more powerful between gear shifts.

The continuously variable transmission will make it feel like there are endless gear ratios in the Equinox. If you want an AWD configuration, you’ll get the 8-speed automatic transmission that may be able to improve the Equinox’s overall fuel usage and get it up to speed faster. Since the engine itself didn’t change, the overall horsepower and torque we expect from the Equinox haven’t changed; it’s just its drivability.

New Trim Options

This trim level is a first for the Chevy Equinox. It has a unique front fascia and grille that makes it stand out from the other trim levels. It comes equipped with 17″ machine-faced aluminum wheels that are wrapped with all-terrain tires, so it’s ready to hit the backcountry.
