Everything We Know About the Anticipated 2025 Chevy Equinox

The newest edition of the much-loved Chevy Equinox will hit the market in the middle of 2024. This will mark the beginning of the Equinox’s fourth generation, and Chevy has made some major changes to this compact SUV. It’s been Chevrolet’s second best-selling vehicle of all time, only falling behind the classic Chevy Silverado in terms of models sold, and shows no signs of slowing in popularity.
It’s an all-around practical and versatile SUV that folks across America and here in the Blanchard area love. If you’re looking for a Chevy dealer near Blanchard with the 2025 Equinox, you’ll find it in our extensive inventory! We’re just as excited to get our hands on this new model as you are. In anticipation of its release, we’ve gathered some key facts about what makes the 2025 version different from its predecessors. Let’s jump in and see what there is to know about the 2025 Chevy Equinox!
The Equinox Hits a Growth Spurt
The exterior design of the Chevy Equinox will change in 2025. The most noticeable change is that the Equinox is getting bigger! It’s going to be 2.3 inches wider than the 2024 model, and it’s going to be taller as well due to some lifting. The engineers at Chevy have strived to make the 2025 Chevy Equinox look and feel a lot more like their popular truck lineup and the Chevy Traverse. In particular, you’ll be able to see a family resemblance between the Equinox and its sibling, the Traverse.
It has a cooler appeal and a more rugged look than prior models. Where the Equinox was more curvy in the past, it’s more rugged now. You’ll note the squared-off wheel wells that give it a boxier shape. SUVs have started to look pretty similar across the industry, and this new take on the Equinox will help it stand out in a crowd.
The 2025 Equinox will be available in a wide array of colors for added personalization. Folks who want to go a little further in their self-expression can opt for a white two-tone roof to add contrast between the body color and the roofline. When you’re driving around Shreveport, you’ll be sure to turn some heads!
An Interior Refresh
The interior of the 2025 Chevy Equinox has gotten a refresh! The most notable change is the addition of an 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen that is oriented toward the driver. This huge screen was only available on upgraded trim levels in prior Equinox models, but now everyone gets it! This larger screen will make it easier to navigate using GPS, access connected apps like music streaming services, and stay connected while on the open road.
You’ll still be able to haul plenty of cargo in the refreshed Equinox, even with the more roomy seating. There is 63.5 cu.ft. of space in the back so that you can bring all your luggage, sporting gear, and equipment on the road. You’ll even get a hidden rear cargo floor where you can store valuable possessions so they stay out of sight. And because of the redesign of the Equinox as a whole, drivers familiar with prior models of the Equinox will be impressed by the improved visibility over the steering wheel from the driver’s seat.
Transmission Changes
While the actual engine available in the Chevy Equinox, a 1.5L Turbo I-4, isn’t changing, something else big is. Instead of only being offered a 6-speed automatic transmission, this new generation of Equinox models comes equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or an 8-speed automatic transmission. This change was made to improve the pep of the Equinox and make it more powerful between gear shifts.
The continuously variable transmission will make it feel like there are endless gear ratios in the Equinox. If you want an AWD configuration, you’ll get the 8-speed automatic transmission that may be able to improve the Equinox’s overall fuel usage and get it up to speed faster. Since the engine itself didn’t change, the overall horsepower and torque we expect from the Equinox haven’t changed; it’s just its drivability.

New Trim Options
Previously, Chevy offered a wide array of trim levels. They’ve streamlined the lineup to just three excellent options for this model year, including one entirely new offering! Trims now include the standard LT, the sportier RS trim, and an all-new ACTIV trim that will have you ready to set out on an adventure.
The Equinox LT
This trim level is the base grade, but it is by no means basic! You’ll get the unique LT grille and front fascia, the newly enlarged digital screens standard, and even heated front seats and steering wheel standard! That can be a blessing when the weather turns chilly.
The Equinox RS
This trim is an upgrade over the LT model and introduces several additional features. With it, you’ll get the unique RS grille and front fascia, a sportier overall look, and standard 19-inch wheels with the option to upgrade to 20-inch wheels to make a statement. Also on the outside are black mirrors and matching moldings for a smooth look as well as emblems and badging to showcase the trim level. Inside, you’ll get a flat-bottomed steering wheel for added comfort and style, cool debossing of the RS name on your front seat head restraints, and Evotex seating with Torch Red and Santorini Blue stitching.
The Equinox ACTIV
This trim level is a first for the Chevy Equinox. It has a unique front fascia and grille that makes it stand out from the other trim levels. The overall design accentuates its offroad look and feel, ensuring you know it’s ready for an adventure. It comes equipped with 17″ machine-faced aluminum wheels that are wrapped with all-terrain tires, so it’s ready to hit the backcountry. Inside, you’ll get a special Maple Sugar and Black interior theme with premium Evotex and suede microfiber seats. Like the RS’s debossing, the ACTIV trim name will be featured on your front seat head restraints.

Advanced Tech
Chevy didn’t pull any punches when they went about redesigning this new generation of Chevy Equinox models. You’ll find loads of the most cutting-edge technology features available to thrill even the most techy car enthusiast! Features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, so you don’t have to mess around with tangled cords just to access your favorite apps on the go.
You also get Google built-in directly in the Equinox now! With it, you can use voice commands through Google Assistant wherever you go, with access to apps, maps, and even music! If you’re a lover of the wireless connectivity features, you might even want to opt for the available wireless charging. If you don’t, don’t worry; there are still plenty of USB outlets to keep you charged while on the road.
